The greater Fargo area bustles with things to see and do. It is home to golf courses, unique shopping, cultural and artistic events, exciting NCAA Division I athletics at North Dakota State University and major events and concerts. No matter what you love, you’ll find it in Fargo. Culture aficionados cherish its museums and theaters. The vibrant downtown offers unique lodging, eating establishments and entertainment venues. It’s the largest city in North Dakota. The metro area has several colleges and an active arts community. Families flock to the Red River Valley Zoo and Children's Museum at Yunker Farm. Metropolitan Fargo has much to see and do, so we urge you not to make it a stop on your way to parts unknown. Stop and stay awhile. You’ll be glad you did.

Located in the center of North America, the Red River Valley stretches over 30 miles, gently rising westward from the Red River, a north-flowing river running between North Dakota and Minnesota, and extending into Canada. Rich, black soil produces an abundance of crops such as potatoes, sunflowers, sugar beets, wheat, corn, soybeans, alfalfa, oats, and lentils. Industry and agriculture are closely related in Fargo-Moorhead. The area has meat packaging plants, sugar and sunflower processing plants, creameries and a malting barley plant.

The spirit of the early pioneers remains a treasured part of our proud heritage. We continue to build on our colorful past as we look forward to the promise of the future.
